Subject: [Antennas] klm kt34 help
Hi all,
I'm in a quandry. My antenna swr has changed. The swr has increased on the
whole of 20m. On 20, it is like the sweet spot is now above the band rather
than where it should be. The other bands are different, too.
changed:
new balun from m2
new feedline
The good news is that the antenna is on a 10ft section of tower on my (flat)
roof. It'll be on the roof at 730 am.
Any Ideas????
tnx de n3ykf
was the antenna always that low above the roof?
At that height one can expect that no resonance point is
where it is supposed to be.
If you don´t have height of at least 0,6 Lambda above ground
the antenna capture aeria is distorted and so their behaviour.
To check resonance and SWR I suggest to pull it vertically, with
the boom parallel to the tower section, as high as possible,
but at least that the reflector left the ground.
Measure again, if still wrong direct at the feedpoint.
If still wrong disconnect the balun from the antenne, load it
with 200 ohms noninductive and check with an antenna analyser
wether its flat SWR of 1 from 10-30MHz.
Verify that your feedline is 50 Ohms.
