Yes,
W0AOA did it all the time from his long open wire feedline up in the
mountains of CO. I think John (now SK) used AC power from a transformer
and adjusted the current for around 15 or 20 amps. Just be concerned
about the current. He performed it as one time treatments, not
continuously.
