[Antennas] Balanced?

Since it is unconventional to say the least, would you like to comment on
why you do not have a balun, or did you just forget to mention that?
Generally speaking, a Pi network tuner is better than the C-L-C tuners,
because they are low pass, whereas the C-L-C tuners are high pass.
I remember that my Heathkit DX-40, which I put together around 1949 or 1950,
has a Pi network antenna matching section - haven't seen a Pi matching
section since then and cannot imagine why they are so rare. The DX-40 still
sits in a corner of the shack with its companion VF-1 vfo.
BTW - using it on 160 will probably work even better if you tie the two
terminals of the 300 ohm line together and treat it as an inverted L or top
loaded vertical.
