...yep, according to the gospel, the "Ultimate transmatch", then the Z-Match
were the best antenna tuners ever born. Later somebody reversed the input
and the output of the Ultimate and christened it the SPC. Late they figured
out a spiel that the differential cap can be replaced with a simple
capacitor and the T-Match was born.
They all boil down to the L-Match with one more reactance added. I use the
LDG RT-11, which is basically a L-section that can be reversed
automatically and the thing matches everything, from a long wire to a metal
bed.
The morale is : KISS (keep it simple, stupid!) , meaning in this case: use
the simplest thing that works for you.
