Jim... I've disected a bunch of Hustler's in the past and think I have the info
you're looking for ( wire size, coil dimensions, # of turns, etc ). But-- all the
data is on my work computer. I'll see what I can send you tomorrow morning unless
someone else gets it to you first.
I do quite a bit of mobiling, and have found the Hustler loading coils inadequate for
long term running in wet wx. To solve the problem, I just peeled the white heat
shrink material off and oversprayed the coils with an epoxy varnish (used in the
electric motor biz). Then, I could keep running right thru the heaviest rain storm
without the SWR going off the charts and then later having to wait days (never for
one 40M coil--hence the "stripping of the heatshrink) for the coils to dry out.
Before using the epoxy spray, I tried several other "sealing" ideas, but wasn't
satisfied until I tried the epoxy.
