Well, my Ford Exploder .. `92.. (SAMEO AS RANGER, METHINKS) is pretty quiet,
except when it's running! HIHI .... `tis the fuel pump, in this case, and
have done the research, now to either drop the tank and fix, or one of the
other schemes. I am going to use an SAE AC heavy duty filter .. mounted as
close to the tank as I can cut the wires... cut trick is to use a standard 3
prong equipment plug and strip its plug in cord .. we shall see... `tis
EMI filter, w/multiple caps and chokes in a 3 by 2 by 2.5 inch can. Not
sure the wiring sequence, in vs. out .. we shall `spearmint ...
Back to aerials .. I just got (an hour ago) a roll-over mount .. the tire on
your rig sits on it .. holds a vertical pipe, antenna, etc... and I am going
to make a set up for my Hy-Gain DX-77 ... making it a super fast
installation for 7 bands, 4Ø thru 1ØM .. at an altitude of up to 4Ø' at its
base, make the whole shebang close to 6Ø' at the tip... but, depending on
winds es wx, with the base just at 8' or so, just above the roof of the rig.
The DX-77 does not use radials, and the little stick-outs on the antenna
base conveniently fold up for transport.. looks ideal to me, the height is
29' --anybody played with this type setup for mobile? The DX-77 is an
off-center feed Windom .. have not tried it yet, am going to compare it A-B
VS Butternut in the next couple weeks, mounted on my roof .. depending on
wx...
