Right, and the reason is the model. Can you or would you spend weeks
getting all the accurate data needed to make an accurate model? Really
measuring the characteristics of the dirt under and around your antenna
for many wavelengths? Or just throw in the average ground values ;-)
Do any of us really know how far above RF ground the antenna is?
(Hint: it is not AGL) What do you do to allow for the house you live
in, which is probably close by, and the neighbors, any trees and even
the feed line? Or just get close, make it 2% long and trim to fit<G>
I go with the latter myself ;-)
