[Antennas] Inline female coax connector (barrel or feedthru)

This has been a very interesting thread. A while back, I saw an idea that
got my attention... One clever fellow uses the longer style barrel or
feedthru UHF connector to join the cable near the bottom of the tower with
the cable leading to the shack. The clever part is that he then uses a
ground strap (Polyphaser..?) fastened to the barrel, and then he completely
weatherproofed the connection. This eliminates the need to cut and remove
the outer jacket from the cable, which, in some cases, can be a tricky thing
to do without causing damage to the cable.
Needless to say that you can do this with any style coaxial barrel, UHF, N,
TNC, etc... However, I don't think that I could recommend doing it with any
non-threaded connectors, like BNC or similar types.
I tried this grounding method and it works very well. To avoid damaging
the connectors, tighten them with two strap wrenches (Sears) instead of
metal pliers or vise-grips. BTW, apply 'STUFF' to the connectors before
fastening them. STUFF is a silicone compound made specifically for this
application.
