Nelson,
If you were to use an antenna that has balanced line feeder where one 
side is not grounded, insulated wire is
useful to minimize the static charge from snow blowing across the 
antenna... These static charges can get quite
wicked in a blizzard and cause some arcing in a balanced tuner. (such 
as the Johnson Matchbox)
Probably not your situation but just thought I would add my 2cents. hi
