I have to kinda smile when i see 3 place accuracy in this antenna spec. 3.28,
not 3.3 or 3. I wonder from what highly sophisticated analysis these
recommended specifications were derived. I am not saying it doesn't work,
just that with an antenna whose central idea is based on a resistor swamping
out impedance variations, i cannot believe the design specifications are very
critical. I also wonder about the 30-40 degree angle. It would be a better DX
antenna if it were purely vertical - but then it wouldn't have a measure of
horizontal radiation for local work, and this antenna is intended as a do-all.
I see one on the roof of the Nat'l Guard Armory here in Newport, Oregon. The
coastal environment i am sure is a good test of antenna materials. This one
looks pretty new. But- it's horizontal and only a few feet off a roof that is
already pretty low. I wonder what kind of rig the Nat'l Guard is using into it.
