[Antennas] Length of Dipole

Jim,
You should consider an OCF antenna. I use one from the Antenna 
Handbook. It is fed with RG8x, with a large Radio Works 4:1 balun at the 
45' 90' joint, which is supported at 35'. The antenna has less than a 2:1 
SWR over the entire 80, 40, 20 and most of the 10 meter band without a 
tuner. It is useable on the other bands with a tuner. I have some 
portable OCF antennas, a couple of which use 300 ohm ladder line, with 4:1 
balun on the ground and coax to the rig if you want to use 300 ohm ladder 
line.
