Mike,
The G5RV is an excellent compromise antenna. The key to this and other
antennas is to get it as high as possible. You can expect decent results
from your G5RV Jr. on 7 mHz and above. Short the RG8X at your transceiver
and feed it as a single wire and you will be able to work 80 meters to a
degree.
