[Antennas] Some thoughts on baluns

IT isn't always necessary to have a balun on feedline.
A simple test is to add some extra coax( best is 1/4
wavelength) and note resonance. If resonance changes
with additional coax, then the coax is radiating.
Note: THis only works when the feedline is all 50 ohm
line(and the xcvr output is also 50 ohms).
The wrong balun can also cause problems. Rerun the
test after adding the balun. THe wrong balun can also
heat up during transmission which will cause increasing
SWR due to heat.
