I have owned both the HF-6V and HF-9V. To the best of my memory,it's 1/4
wave for 20 meters (taking into account the coax velocity factor) of 75
ohm coax. Butternut supplies RG-8, with a PL-259 on one end, and lugs on
the other (one on center conductor and one on braid stripped from the
end.) I modified my stub to use PL-259s on both ends, made an L-bracket
with a SO-239 chassis connector on the bracket, bolted to the ground
terminal, and with a wire running from the SO-239 cebter conductor to the
upper fed terminal of the HF-xV. If the bracket is wide enough, you can
drill a couple of holes big enough for #6 or #8 bolts; this is a
convenient way to attach the raials. You might even do better to use
PL-259 onm one end, and a line-type SO-239 on the other end, eliminating
the need for a barrel coax connector.
Suggest you contact Butternut (Bencher/Butternut, [email protected])
for exact dimensions.
