Mike: If you have the room, I would suggest that you build the antenna out
of 450 Ohm
ladder line, fed with 450 ohm line to a 4:1 balun and then coax to the
K2. I use such
an antenna which has worked well on 80 thru 10 meters running 100
watts. In the past
year I have worked 180 countries on all bands plus WAS on 75 and 40. In
fact have worked
WAS 5 times on 40. Go to http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ebwild/current.html
where you will
find drawings of my "Linear loaded Double Extended Zepp" This may give you
some ideas
on what you can do with the room you have. My antenna is only 20 feet off
the ground
so the concept should work in an attic. You may have to fold it to make it
fit, but
I think it should do what you want.
