Hart,
If you get a new MFJ item, especially antenna tuners, first thing to do is
resolder all the joints that you can get to. I have had eight of them over
the last ten years, still have three, and most of them needed some soldering
work. I some places I have replaced some wire with larger sizes. Hope this
is of interest.
