[Antennas] passive reflector ?

I must disagree, if the reflector is close enough to one end and
is larger than the near dish (referring to microwave here) and the
reflector can be focused, bidirectional gain will be added to the
path. I had a 10 by 17 foot reflector 600 feet up on the top of
a bank building 1/2 mile from a 10 foot dish that added gain by
virtue of the greater capture area being focused into the nearby
10 foot dish.
(the microflect reflector is still there, I work elsewhere now)
"parascope shots" were once very common, where a 12' octagonal
dish near the top of a 100 foot tower reflected down into a 6 or
so foot dish mounted on a bracket facing up.
At frequencies above 4 or 5 gig the transmission line losses for
100 feet of waveguide at each end will eat away at your antenna gain.
If my reply is not in accord with the current thread, excuse me.
