[Antennas] About MOXON for 2m.

Hi,
I have built a moxon for 2m. with #12 (using PVC to support the wire) and
it works fine but compared with my MFJ1764 (both polarized vertically) it
does not work so well.
Anyone has compared Moxon with other 2m antennas? in terms of gain? Is the
wire a problem to get the maximum performance of the moxon?
I'm planning to build a moxon for 6m to use it for DX instead the 6m
antenna that provides the MFJ1796 but I rather to be sure that the
performance will be better.
Any ideas? Considerations or advices?
