Just stop by and make a friendly visit at your local electric motor
re-winding shop, or an automotive starter/alternator rebuilder.. 73, Mark

Subject: [Antennas] Wire For Balun
I need to make a couple of 4:1 baluns. I've seen a couple of different plans
on various websites that use enameled wire and toroid cores. I've got the
cores, but where in the world can one get heavy gauge enameled wire these
days? Can I use 14 gauge electrical wire? Would that change the number of
windings? Also, I understand that I can use coax cable. Any plans for a coax
cable balun (maybe transformer is a better word) out there?
Thanks,
Kelley -- WRK
