I have used ONE hundred feet of the the 3/16" DACRON line,
black with spiral white specks around, it has been up for over 25 years.
I bought it at some central Florida hamfest. (Melbourne or Orlando?)
It cost me 6ドル for the 100 ft. spool. (The best 6ドル I ever spent.)
I have used it from 30' push up pole to trees to 4 X 4 posts
to trees to buildings etc. to hold up my wire antennas.
It is in a dozen pieces. It has had various forms of plant life
growing on it from time to time. (mosses & lichens etc)
Portions have been tied to pushup poles, over pulleys, wrapped around cleats,
around short bits of 2 X 4's passed through concrete blocks used as weights.
It has not developed any bad spots, just a few partial minor cuts or breaks
in the black covering where it was over stressed at the edge of something.
The covering is finely braided. The insides is fibers running length wise.
It ties and unties nicely and MY knots don't un-tie themselves. I keep a
couple of 3' pieces in the car to use as temporary chokers.
