Yes you are correct in that a g5rv is a dipole however;=20
for the sake of this thread it applies too in regards to the mounting
it on a movable support. Instead of one pulley on one tree you have two.
I have even used a tree as a guy support, (big tree- 50 ft push pole) =
and used a larger pulley
and a 20 pound weight it worked fine.
Some friends of mine around town have even taken this idea one step =
beyond in that
on their towers they have a good sized counter-weight at top of tower =
with pulley and rope.
When climbing the tower the rope is attached to the safety harness thus =
if they were to fall their descent
is such that they can recover safely. Of course counterweights need be =
adjusted for different climbers.
