Hi Kevin,
I have been using a DX-A antenna by Alpha Delta for about nine years.
Originally, it was known as an Alpha-Delta Twin Sloper.
It works very well indeed on all bands, 160 through 6 meters, with the
built-in tuners on my TS-940, TS-2000 and K2 radios, even though it is
advertised as 160-80-40 meters.
Mine is installed inverted vee style on a 45 ft. Rohn 25 tower, with a
single ground wire to a ground rod at the base of the tower. I use a
homebrew balun consisting of ten turns of RG8X about 10 inches in
diameter just below the feed point.
I've used anywhere from 800 watts down to QRPp with no problems.
My other HF antenna is an R7 vertical, on an A/B switch. Very often the
DX-A is better than the R7 on the bands the R7 is designed for,
especially on 10, 12 and 15 meters.
I find a sharp resonance at 1850 KHz., but no definite resonance
indications on 80 or 40, but that seems to be unimportant, considering
how well the antenna performs.
Much of my operation is QRP, CW and SSB and I've been able to work DX on
all bands with the DX-A.
Needless to say, I recommend the DX-A highly.
FWIW.
