FCC seeks customer comments on Licensing Systems (Mar 27, 2002) -- As part
of an effort to improve electronic licensing systems for its
customers--including amateurs--the FCC is soliciting comments on "the
electronic licensing experience." The FCC invites comments on such topics
as filing a licensing application, customer assistance, availability of
application status, "look and feel" of Internet filing and any other topic
concerning FCC licensing systems. "High-priority improvements across
licensing systems may begin to be implemented during fiscal year 2003," the
FCC said in a news release. For amateurs, the systems involved would
include the Universal Licensing System (ULS), which contains the amateur
licensing database, and the Commission. Customers who had recently provided
input regarding licensing system improvements need not comment again, the
FCC said. Send comments to the FCC by Thursday, March 28, via e-mail to
[email protected]. Include your name, your e-mail address and a daytime
telephone number. If possible, indicate how your suggested change will
impact you. For further information, contact Paul Mocko, 202-418-7835.--FCC
