My point is this... I worked day and night trying to rid myself of the
engine noise problem in my Ford. Ford sold a unit to "fix" it. It
didn't. I went directly to the engine battery. That didn't help. I
bought the best Radio Shack filter. That didn't help. I contacted AES,
and they sorta smiled. I then heard about GM advertising at Dayton about
how they solved the RF noise problems people were having. 
I know this... I plugged in my radios into the Impala and they had ZERO
noise problems. And I mean ZERO. My conclusion? You may or may not
find the solution to your Ford noise issues. Go ahead and try. You may
be one of the few. If you buy an Impala, you will not have the problem
in the first place. I also concluded that in my case, it was not in the
line. It was RF. In fact, every time a Ford drives by me on the road
or near a stop light, I chuckle because my radios (Icom and Yaesu) start
whining. As soon as the Ford goes away, the noise goes away!!
