[Antennas] How do you use an antenna tuner?

I thought I knew how to use an antenna tuner (in my case, an SA-2060A) =
until I recently bought a Kenwood TS-570. That antenna tuner can load =
up to stuff I just could'nt do with my heath tuner. Of course I =
understand that the Kenwood can try lots of combinations, but I'm still =
thinking that my procedure is lacking.
What I have been doing, is to use an Autek analyzer, and turn the =
inductance for the lowest SWR. Then, I use the two capacitance controls =
to get the SWR as low as possible. However, there are many places that =
I cannot load up to on my (I hate to say it in view of all the =
conversation, but Cushcraft R-7000 - please turn your flame-throwers on =
"simmer"). =20
For example, I've been doing real well on 80, anywhere on the band! Not =
DX, but contacts within 1000 miles without any problem - I'm satisfied. =
I would hasten to add that on 20 -10 the vertical runs about 6 S units =
lower on receive, than on my beam. Tom W6EIJ
