That just got me thinking. Maybe not a bad idea.
One of the purposes of the end cap is to keep the wind from whistling
through the elements and fatiguing the aluminum over time and scaring
the kids on windy nights.
I wonder if those screens would work for that also.
Cheaper than buying those mesh filters just cut some small squares of
aluminum screen material and push them into the element ends, sort of
like the screen in a one hitter for lack of a better description (No! I
don't smoke).
