Jim,
I have erected a 36 foot vertical solo. Was concerned that I would get a
set in the tubing going from the horzonital to the vertical. Not the case.
I used 1.125 inch diameter tubing as the base section.
I have built an 80 meter capactive hat i.e. 4 wire radials mounted at the
top of the antenna. The antenna is elevated 8 foot from ground level with 4
each 1/4 wavelength insulated radials. The antenna works great.
By the way, I have purchased tubing from Texas Towers often. Great tubing
and quick delivery.
