I have room to put up a 250 ft loop. 100 ft on two sides and 50 ft on the=

base with=0D
the feed point near the side and base. Feed will be 450 ohm ladder line t=
o =0D
a 4:1=0D
balun so I can use coax to get inside the house. My question is =0D
this: What will this=0D
antenna look like on 160 thru 20 meters?=0D

Hi Bob,=0D

The way you discribe this loop it sound like you talking putting it up in
the Vertical plan.. if that is the case it will look good on 80-- but not=
so
good on 20M. It's iffy on 160 unless you open one side. If you put it u=
p
as a horizontal loop it will work well on 80-- 10 meters.. I've been usin=
g a
520 ft. horizontal loop and it works quite well on all bands. work qrp d=
xcc
with it most on 30 m cw. There are several good articles about horizonta=
l
loops on the web one of the best is by Cebik at http://www.cebik.com/atl1
html and http://www.cebik.com/vdelt.html=0D
=0D
These two articles will answer many of your questions.=0D
