Hi Wes,
Very glad to see that you joined the discussion because your article
has been used and quoted several times, including by me and I have
a copy.
I've done the basic wet vs dry for several modifications of window
ladder line at 15Mhz, 30Mhz and 50Mhz (my interest is for HF use)
and I'm in the process of testing the effect of baluns (9:1 and 4:1)
relative to wire RF resistance losses as a result of standing waves
due to a mismatch (tie the 450 ohm line directly to a 50 ohm beam)
vs losses due to a toroid matching network ...real close (9:1) and
not so close (4:1). Red core (permeability 10) toroids. Of course,
this only makes sense with window ladder line because most readily
available coax will have large RF losses due to standing waves as
a result of mismatches.
