My antenna configuration for the last 15 years has been 450ohm ladder
line to
a Cushcraft A3 .....250 ft away (main reason I went to the ladder line).
It goes
up the tilt/tele pole through small 6" lengths of PVC on approx 1ft
plastic
supports/spacers to keep it away from the tower. Went around the rotor in
a
loop of car heater hose to keep it away from the rotor. Tied directly to
the beam
(no balun, etc). Tuner in the shack ...works great, low loss.
Lots of raised eyebrows, you are doing what ?, why not use $$ Hardline ?,
etc.
Oldtimers just nod with understanding. I also have a relay which drops
the
80/40 trap doublet across the ladder line under the rotor.
