Announcing pbbat(4).
Got a PowerBook 1xx (excluding the 150/190). ?
Want to monitor the battery and AC adapotor for auto shutdown or dim screen
brightness to save battery?
It's now possible with pbbat(4) added to NetBSD-current (10.99.12).
Just uncomment pbbat(4) from the GENERIC kernel and rebuild the kernel.
It will give an indication of power consumption and also feed battery voltages
/ and charger / battery remaing capacity to the rnd(9) framework for extra
randomness.

PS: What needs to happen next is a sysctl for screen bightness so it would be
possible to script for low power / ac adaptor connected events with powerd(8).
This will be possible very soon....
