Re: tex-*-doc packages

I've been wondering about how we handle the texlive doc packages.
Currently we do them as separate packages: for a tex-foo package
we have a separate tex-foo-doc package to deal with the foo.doc
 tarball.
I wonder if we should keep them as separate packages or role them into
the base package (possibly with a variable to control inclusion).
For what it's worth, we have a GSoC student, leot%NetBSD.org@localhost, working
on multi-package support -- that is, one pkgsrc directory that
produces multiple binary packages. You could use this for any doc
package that shares a distfile and logic in common with the package it
documents.
I agree with gdt@ that using a build-time option to control whether
you can get documentation is a bug -- the user should be able to
decide to pkg_add foo-doc long after the binary packages have been
built.
