I have never noticed that. And I have built and installed teTeX many
times.
teTeX is a meta-package. It is made up of other packages, such as:
teTeX-bin, teTeX-sharesrc and texi2html.
Can you give us more information on how you are installing it?
When or where are you getting this problem?
