Confusing simple pattern matching and regular expressions is not a trivial
thing.
The "LUA" correction was probably just salt in the wound. It wouldn't sting
but for the pattern matching bit. 
I'd wager 10ドル that "PERL" and "LUA" is part of some sinister 4chan troll
campaign. I'd probably lose that 10,ドル but it is just that annoying.
