Yes, lhf was very clear on that. But if it takes a _little_ work to
preserve compatibility with _most_ modules, why not? If it ain't
broken, why fix?

Well, note that lua5.2 is still using '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/'.
There's always the distinct _VERSION global.
