[WriteLog] Some solutions

OK, first...
My recent install of 10.53 with the error. I just turned off the 
computer, rebooted, reinstalled the upgrade and all went fine.
Next...
The record on the fly problem, I brought up on Friday.
I searched the archives and this was covered in November 04. If you 
have this problem where you can't record on the fly, go into 
Tools|Keyboard shortcuts, and set the default. The odd thing in my 
case is I was testing on F8. It still didn't work, so I figured, let 
me try a different one. Tried F6 and it worked. Then, went back and 
tried F8 again, and now it works too.
