[WriteLog] USB to serial

Hello. Trying to get computer set up for WL from VP5Y for ARRL CW DX Test. 
Trying to use
a Cypress Semi Conductor brand USB to comport adapter. Shows up in device 
manager as:
"Cypress USB-HID to COM device". Set to Com 4 as 9600,8,none,1, none. 
Anyone have any luck keying WL with this device? Help appreciated. Leave 
in one week.
