[WriteLog] Extrapolating Data from WL logs?

I've noticed in the 3830 email reflector posting, folks are posting a
myriad of statistics -- hour-by-hour (by band), # of Q's per mult (or
state or other defined region), etc. 
Is there a way either within or external to Writelog that will generate
these stats? Or can someone show me how I can generate this information
with an already available Writelog file output?
