TXD is the FSK data lead, so you need that for sure Ric ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Naumann - N5NJ" <n5nj at gte.net> To: "WriteLog" <WriteLog at contesting.com> Sent: Sunday, February 08, 2004 14:27 Subject: Re: [WriteLog] Serial Card Question Ric is right. TXD and RXD are the pins that send and receive data. Without them, the ports are useless - for rig control in this case. I doubt that you need these pins to control anything (PTT or FSK). This is usually done on the DTR & RTS lines. -Bob > ------------Original Message------------ > From: "Ed" <w3nr at comcast.net> > To: "WriteLog" <WriteLog at contesting.com>, "Ric Plummer" <ricp at alum.wpi.edu> > Date: Sun, Feb-8-2004 8:17 AM > Subject: Re: [WriteLog] Serial Card Question >>> ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ric Plummer" <ricp at charter.net> > To: "Ed" <w3nr at comcast.net> > Sent: Sunday, February 08, 2004 8:55 AM > Subject: Re: [WriteLog] Serial Card Question >>> > Something is wrong here. > > ALL serial cards will have a TXD ( transmit data ) > > There are variations on control lines, i.e. RTS CTS DTR DSR CD ..... > > But I don't believe any are missing TXD > > So check carefully > > Ric KV1W >>> Well that is what I thought also.
