[WriteLog] Sound card/DVK problem

Hi
I'm in trouble, can anybody advise a helpless CW operator?!
Situation

WL v10.0
Duron 750Mhz 
Sound on board, scores highest rating in WL test
TS870S acc. socket/mic. conn. hooked to line out on sound card
wav files play through speaker no problem, WL knows where they 
are.
All Windows sound settings OK
WL mixer settings seem OK
No isolation xfmr used
However the wav files do not play through the radio. Well at 
least, if one listens very hard, it's just possible to hear them 
playing at a veerrrry ( ESP) low level.
Could this be a simple level or impedance mismatch problem? I 
confess I don't know what the impedance/levels at the TS870S 
acc. socket are, but imagine they would be compatible with the 
mic. input itself, viz 600ohm(ish).
It's bad enough operating SSB at the best of times, let alone 
having to mouth endless CQs!
