Popup ads are one of the most annoying things about browsing the Web these days. These ads waste time and bandwidth and can create privacy and security concerns. K-Meleon provides you with a way to block most of these annoying ads.

Block Popups

To disable all popup and popunder windows on page loads or unloads:

  1. Go to Tools > Privacy > Block Popups.
  2. Click the Block Popups item to toggle blocking on or off. A mark beside the item indicates that popup blocking is currently toggled on. You can also press F8 on your keyboard to toggle blocking.

Now browse to your favorite ad-popping website and test your settings. You should see a lot less of these windows.

Privacy Bar

To disable all popup and popunder windows using the privacy bar:

  1. Go to View > Toolbars > Privacy Bar and click to toggle the privacy bar.
  2. Click on Popups in the privacy bar to toggle blocking on or off. When popups are allowed there will be a green checkmark. When popup blocking is on there will be a red line.
