この館は神佛や善意に充ちた
多くの人ひとからの贈りものである
堂本印象美術館は、大正から昭和にかけて京都で活躍した日本画家・堂本印象によって設立され1966年に開館しました。美術館は外観から内装に至るまですべてが堂本印象のデザインによって創り出されました。

画家としては一つの様式が完成すれば、
すぐにそれを打破して
いつまでも安住せずに
次の段階を目ざして進まなければならない
「伝統を打ち破って新たな芸術の創造を目指すことが真の伝統である」という堂本印象の理念に基づく作品には、
様々な主題、画風が見られます。

- 午前9時30分〜午後5時(入館は閉館30分前まで)
休館日 : 月曜日(祝休日の場合は開館し、翌平日に休館) 及び 年末年始(12月28日〜1月4日)
