Celebrating Anderson's NBA Heritage.
ACS Enterprise Group sprouts the next generation of entrepreneurs...
Spring Semester is a very exciting time. A vast operation is underway in Mr. Fox's economics
classes which may spawn the next Henry Ford, Bill Gates, or P-Diddy!
Students have formed a company and are in the process of designing, producing and marketing
a new product. Though this real-world format students have explored economic concepts such as...
* supply and demand
* free-enterprise system
* marketing
* the stock market
* corporation organizational charts
* creating products with high perceived value
* intellectual property rights
* advertising
* etc, etc, etc
The Anderson Packers of 'little ole" Anderson, Indiana were one of the founding franchises for today's NBA.
It was indeed the 1949-50 season when team owner Ike Duffey met with representatives from the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks,
and other early teams to initiate the league.
To this day the Anderson Packers hold a 4-4 NBA playoff record, which exceeds the playoff winning percentage of many
of today's clubs.
Most of the graphics featured below come from actual game night programs.
Kick back...take a break...and enjoy these vintage NBA artifacts.

Ad from Packer program from years just prior to the forming of the NBA. Mr. Duffey's meat packing plant (recently
known as Emge's) takes center stage. Note the Duffey truck and that all games, including Sunday games, began at 8:30pm,
much later than today's NBA games. Must have been the strong coffee back then!
