comma after introductory phrase [preposition]: In the present work,

Hello, everybody!
Reading different scientific articles, I found that in some abstracts to these articles there was comma after a phrase In the present work, in another abstracts there wasn't comma after that phrase.
To be clear, I placed an abstract to one of the articles below:
1) In the present work different methods of introduction of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and carbon nanofibers to cement matrix were undertaken. One of the methods consisted in the introduction of carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) to a cement suspension, another method was the introduction of functionalized CNMs with mixing water to a cement paste.

2) In the present work, different methods of introduction of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and carbon nanofibers to cement matrix were undertaken. One of the methods consisted in the introduction of carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) to a cement suspension, another method was the introduction of functionalized CNMs with mixing water to a cement paste.

Could you tell me, which variant (with/without comma) is more correct?
Thank you in advance!
