YLE Fem the Swedish language broadcaster in Finland has told Eurovoix today that they will not be taking part in Junior Eurovision 2014. YLE Fem have run MGP since 2007 when it was first designed to select the Finnish entry for MGP Nordic, the Nordic version of Junior Eurovision, however MGP stopped in 2011 when SVT returned to Junior Eurovision. YLE Fem told us that:
The contest is too big for us to take part
Finland was one of a number of countries who were said to have expressed interest in the contest, we are still awaiting a response from the main Finnish broadcaster YLE.

Since launching Eurovoix in April 2011, it has been a pleasure to find out more about this amazing continent through the Eurovision Family of Events. From starting out as a small site, it's been brilliant to see the site grow and flourish and continue to bring our readers everything from the world of Eurovision.

I told you that Finland won’t debut. Now wait for Italy. But it’s cool. We will have GREECE and Cyprus back.
Cyprus was not even in Eurovision this year. Why should they enter JESC? Only because of Greece? No.
Not this year but next year very Likely.
Yeah but JESC of the previous year. Associates with the ESC of the next year. I am Eurofan 20 years and I know better
I am a fan since 2009 and know even more facts than most of you. Or do you know who hosted both ESC and JESC?
Nadia Hasanoui! JESC 2004 and ESC 2010 ! Who is the clever now?
Please can I ask that both of you stop arguing with each other, thank you very much.
Maybe next year
Try YLE Teema! Maybe Finland can reverse their decision with this idea 🙂
