New 15mm Battlesuits at Alternative Armies!
Four new codes added to the HOF 15mm Science Fiction range for March and
April 2018. Security Force Alpha (SFA) brings a great deal more of the
stompy with variant battlesuit kits for many more specialised uses in
battle and orbital freight yard. These follow up on the original Bear
Cat Battlesuit, the Uplifted Yeti Platoon, SFA Personalities and Dogs as
well as Tracker Wheeled Bikes and Portable Weapon Platforms with Gun
Crew plus the Trencher Tracked Bikes from previous releases and are
great for any game system and fit right in with the rest of the array of
the SFA.

Alternative Armies has embarked upon expanding the Security Force Alpha
(SFA) array of codes within the HOF 15mm Science Fiction Range in
conjunction with prolific wargamer Fred Richards who has a vision of
space colony warfare in the near future which we find captivating and
wanted to get in on. From the mind of Mr Richards and the guys at
Alternative Armies comes the seventh release in this thread the diaspora
of battlesuits as a part of Fred's vision for the future.
HOF121A Fire Cat Battlesuit – Go HERE.
This pack contains one 15mm scale white metal and grey tone resin
vehicle kit.. The Fire Cat Battlesuit brings the heat and is composed
of a lower body part, an upper body part which includes armoured cockpit
as well as a left arm carrying a heavy flamer, a right arm with large
heat shield and separate back mounted fuel tanks plus a top mounted
rotary cannon. Assemble your battlesuit with a degree of pose choice at
waist and arms. This code uses parts from the original HOF121 Bear
Cat. When built it is approx 40mm tall. This code is supplied
unassembled and unpainted and without a base. Other 15mm miniatures are
from the HOF range and are not supplied; shown for scale only. There
are many other larger images on the page which you can scroll through.
HOF121B Steel Cat Battlesuit – Go HERE.
This pack contains one 15mm scale white metal and grey tone resin
vehicle kit.. The Steel Cat Battlesuit throws out the slugs hyper fast
and is composed of a lower body part, an upper body part which includes
armoured cockpit as well as a left arm carrying a heavy rail gun, a
right arm with power fist and plus a top mounted 40mm grenade launcher.
Assemble your battlesuit with a degree of pose choice at waist and
arms. This code uses parts from the original HOF121 Bear Cat. When
built it is approx 40mm tall. This code is supplied unassembled and
unpainted and without a base. Other 15mm miniatures are from the HOF
range and are not supplied; shown for scale only. There are many other

HOF121C Grease Cat Loader Suit – Go HERE.
This pack contains one 15mm scale white metal and grey tone resin
vehicle kit.. The Grease Cat Loader Suit is for your docks and space
stations and is composed of a lower body part, an upper body part which
includes armoured cockpit as well as a left and right arm with cargo
lifters plus a top mounted spot lit and a front mounted light bar. This
code uses parts from the original HOF121 Bear Cat. When built it is
approx 40mm tall. This code is supplied unassembled and unpainted and
without a base. Other 15mm miniatures are from the HOF range and are
not supplied; shown for scale only. There are many other larger images

HOF121D Hades Cat Battlesuit – Go HERE.
This pack contains one 15mm scale white metal and grey tone resin
vehicle kit.. The Hades Cat Battlesuit reaches out with a punch to the
enemy and is composed of a lower body part, an upper body part which
includes armoured cockpit as well as a left and right large missile pod
plus a top mounted comms dish. Assemble your battlesuit with a degree
of pose choice at waist and arms. This code uses parts from the
original HOF121 Bear Cat. When built it is approx 40mm tall. This code
is supplied unassembled and unpainted and without a base. Other 15mm
miniatures are from the HOF range and are not supplied; shown for scale

Fittings for that wrist supplied are a twin barrel rotary cannon, a
large chainsaw and a large power drill. There are also two supplied top
mount weapon options a missile pod and a machine gun. Assemble your
battlesuit for war or construction work or as a scrapheap post apoc
project.
Use the pieces left over for your bits box. When built the Bear Cat is
approx 45mm tall. This code is supplied unassembled and unpainted and
without a base. It goes excellently with any science fiction force in
15mm scale.

HOF121 SFA Bear Cat Battlesuit 15mm released!
A new code added to the HOF 15mm Science Fiction range for November
2018. Security Force Alpha (SFA) brings the stompy in with a battlesuit
kit fit for anything for low to high intensity warfare and also
civilian construction and repair roles (six build options in the pack).
These follow up on the SFA Personalities and Dogs last time as well as
Tracker Wheeled Bikes and Portable Weapon Platforms with Gun Crew plus
the Trencher Tracked Bikes from previous releases and are great for any

Here are two examples of the Bear Cat. The first in the colours of
Security Force Alpha fitted out for war and the second is a space scheme
for a battlesuit outfitted to break into moon domes. Enjoy!
We are very lucky to have pro-painted examples of the Bear Cat from the
legend that is Mastergunz over the USA. His take on this battlesuit
comes in two forms one for combat and the other for construction. Here
are his shots, all make from the kit parts and ain't they ruddy awesome!

INCOMING...... Critical Mass Games Protolene Battlesuits
There's a whole heap of new Protolene Khanate Battlesuits avilable from Critical Mass Games today:
The Scout Battle Suit with Command Array pictured above, is my favourite. It has a slight Gundam/Japanese Sci Fi feel to it. In fact it just Screams Sci Fi. It could be used as a battlesuit for many alien forces beyond the Protolenes.

Weyland-Yutani Weapons Division Stock Rises

Just messing around - well sort of, but what if, what IF the boys over at the Bio-Weapons Division pulled their fingers out for once and came home with the bacon. Eh?
I don't know about you, but THESE are the sort of fookin' armoured aliens I want to see. Never mind yer fookin' prawns. One Xeno Walker and a squad of Xeno hardsuits are about to take shape over the next few nights.....mostly.

How well does ArtCrime Productions new Valkyrie Battle Suit stand against 28mm Sci Fi?

I also checked out GZG's 15mm spare heads against the Valkyrie and they look like they would be cool in place of the Valkyrie's cast head. Giving another dimension to this Battle Suit - perhaps battle damaged, a Merc 'suit' or one salvaged by Resistance/Rebel forces.

New 15mm GZG Heads Up!

Back in November Jon at GZG took up some of my ideas here on Dropship Horizon for 15mm separate Character Heads (click here). He consequently produced some brilliant 15mm heads for those of us who wanted to give our miniatures a bit more individual character. We had fun building upon the theme of these original heads and the fallout of this is that Jon's had several additional sprues sculpted, two of which are illustrated below:

He consequently produced some brilliant 15mm heads for those of us who wanted to give our miniatures a bit more individual character. My photos simply don't do these heads justice. They are magnificent. I take my hat off to Chromecat of the D.C.2150 blog, Joe Dragovich and their ilk for their fine conversion work (click here), and these heads present a real bonus to those of us who find we lack the patience (my particular malaise) or the skill to do this sort of thing for ourselves.
The possibilities are now endless for creating new miniatures using Jon's new separate heads - colourful military personnel, Mercs, Insertion teams, Cyber-Punks, Post-Apoc survivors/gangs, wasteland warriors, industrial world militia, RPG characters. A whole new realm of life can also be given to existing miniatures beyond paint conversions.
Next up from GZG - a 30mm tall human infantry Walker. First of several variants from Jon's workbench.
The Walker is 30mm tall and comes with moulded power/jump pack and separate arms. These arms have a ball joint that attaches to a socket at the shoulders which gives you plenty of scope for posing them individually. The detail includes integral smoke or anti-personnel grenade dischargers.
It's a really substantial miniature that has a very real world design about it. I'll pop up a few more photos over the coming weekend once I have the arms attached. If you have suggestions for additional variants/weapon types post your ideas below.
But that's not all from GZG. Jon has also scuplted some additonal support weapons for the New Israelis - a MILAN style missile launcher - I've seen it and am very impressed, together with a HAMR gunner that is still being worked on.
Finally....a new range of Sci Fi troopers are coming from GZG! You are going to love them! Stick with Dropship Horizon to find out more in my first entry of 2010!
