The CLFS-Network-Scripts package contains a set of scripts to configure the network at bootup and deconfigure it at shutdown.

12.6.1. Installation of CLFS-Network-Scripts

Install the package:

make install

Installed scripts: ifdown, ifup, ipv4-static

Installed systemd units: ifupdown@.service, dhcpcd@.service, nscd.service

Installed directories: /etc/sysconfig, /lib/services, /lib/lsb (symbolic link)

ifdown

Stops a network device.

ifup

Initializes a network device.

ipv4-static

Provides the functionality needed to assign a static Internet Protocol (IP) address to a network interface.
