Tested on NetBSD, but should work on any; sysctl goes back to 4.4BSD. |

I prefer to use the test "sys.platform in ('darwin', 'bsd')" ;-)

sys.platform is 'netbsd4', and presumably 'freebsd5' and so on, so that won't work. |
