Whenever I save or try to run a program from the text editor window, IDLE crashes. Any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7, btw.

Try running IDLE from a command prompt and report the error message you see. Start a python shell session and run:
 import idlelib.idle

With Win7 now, XP previously, I routinely run programs from the IDLE editor window. So do other people, So there is something different on your machine.

Well it seems like all I needed to do was restart my machine. Everything is working fine now. Thanks for your responses.
